Students carol at the Senior Center

On Thursday, December 13th, our Caldwell Elementary School students and staff took an afternoon walk over to the Townsend Senior Center for the second year in a row to sing and play winter songs, Christmas carols and spread some holiday cheer!  Some students sang along while others rang bells and danced to holiday favorites like “Jingle Bell Rock.”  Snowflakes cut and decorated by some of our students were held up high during the song “Let It Snow” – definitely a crowd pleaser among the seniors!  We included a reading of the poem “Winter” by Okie Howe, read proudly by one of our students, since the season of winter is fast approaching.  Several brave students sang solos into the microphone, students practiced and learned piano parts to play for this event and many talented students got the chance to show off their dance moves in the spacious hall where we performed.  Drawings and cards decorated and colored were handed out to the seniors following our performance.  Many thanks to program coordinator Katie and the Townsend Senior Center for having us back!  Happy Holidays to you on behalf of all of us at Caldwell Elementary!!
