Description
The FLLAC Satellite Program provides educational and related services to students between the ages of 4 and 22 in classrooms that are located in public school buildings. The Program is divided into two tracks, one serving students on the Autism Spectrum and one serving students with significant developmental delays. A Program Supervisor and Secretary, supported by a part time Social Worker, oversee teachers and teacher assistants as well as related service providers. All classrooms receive support from Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists. Direct services are provided to each student per the student’s IEP. Opportunities for inclusion are provided and designed to meet the unique needs and abilities of each student. Classrooms maintain a staff/student ratio of at least 1:2 and students are provided a high level of individual support. Students take either the MCAS Alternate Assessment or the MCAS with Accommodations. Satellite Program staff are well trained and supported and are offered opportunities for continued professional growth.
